Don't Forget to Vote
Federal election today...i'm not sure where everyone's opinion about voting lies, but i feel if they are going to be making decisions that affect our people, we might as well have a say in who guides that kind of decision making. The Kelowna Accord was scrapped by the Conservative government, after many, many First Nations worked together and mutually agreed upon its policy. All that hard work, tossed aside by the Harper government. Plus, a change in power will most certainly be better than what we've had at the bargaining tables concerning Six Nations issues. Not to mention that all the teaching staff in all the schools on Six Nations (that are federally controlled) have been working without a contract for well over a year now (expired in June 2007). Please exercise your right to vote sometime today, as previous Natives fought for that right to exist. In similar news, please exercise your right to have a say in how our school operates and ATTEND HOME AND SCHOOL tonight from 5pm to 6pm. Please come and participate in the decisions that affect your child. Then go vote. Or better yet, vote, then come to the meeting.
