Remembrance Day

Today the students from JC Hill and Jamieson schools went to Veteran's Park to honour the veterans.
There was the laying of the wreaths as well as the scattering of pine cones to represent the planting of peace and the teachings of the Great Tree of Peace wampum.

Nya:weh to Ms. Greene for planning and organizing all the other people who helped with the day's ceremony.  Ms. Greene even had three military aircraft fly over at the conclusion of the ceremony.

It was a beautiful day and a nice way to pay respect to those who fought in the wars of the past and those who promote peace everyday through their kind words and actions.
Ms. Greene was kind enough to order a beautiful sunny day.
WOW, does she ever have connections!!!

Please Donate to the Movember Crew at J.C. Hill to Fight Cancer

Hey there,

You may have noticed something a bit different about me (and Mr. Randall and Mr. Montour). It's not a haircut or a new t-shirt, We've made the decision to donate our upper lips/face to the Movember movement. Over the 30 days of November, we are growing a moustache/facial hair while raising funds and awareness for men's health and cancer. http://mobro.co/hickey52

It's been said that with great (and not so great) moustache comes great responsibility. I'm reaching out today with hopes that you'll donate to our Mo so that it may grow just that bit more.

You can donate by:
Donating online at http://mobro.co/hickey52
-OR-
Writing a cheque to 'Movember Canada', referencing my registration ID: 2649358 and mailing it to: Movember Canada, 119 Spadina Avenue, PO Box 65, Toronto, ON M5T 2T2

We are passionate about Movember because they are working tirelessly every day connecting and funding the best scientific and clinical minds in the world, working towards two urgent goals. Fast tracking a time when no man or woman will die from cancer.

You can learn more about the important work and impact Movember is having at: http://ca.movember.com/programs

There's a lot riding on this moustache, so thank you and we appreciate your support!

Assumption Lions Claim the Mascot

JC Hill blew away the competition at Assumption College's Grade 8 Day.

In three competitions, we earned the most points
and came away with our own Assumption Lion.

Here, 5 students were able to represent the team and attempt to
create the highest structure out of newspaper and masking tape.

We were probably the only team with our photos in the paper,
as the boys notice a picture of their championship team in the paper.

Our students won the Tug of War competition,
as well as the best dancing to the Cha Cha Slide
(all those dances finally paid off!!!)

Our future ACS students demonstrated great leadership,
participation, spirit and cooperation today.

Great work everyone who came to ACS!
