5. Principal’s Report

• The toy bingo went very smoothly. An area of concern – they weren’t able to get into the bingo hall until 9:00 am. Had a lot of help. This was important.
• School is administering a Lock Down procedure as part of the safe schools policy. Dan showed the deadbolt choice that will enable each teacher to lock their door from the inside in case of a lock down in the school. Dan to further discuss the options of different keys or one key with Ken Loft, School Maintenance Supervisor.
• Dan shared the District’s Literacy Plan with the group.

6. Treasurer’s Report – Wilma was not in attendance. Deneen provided a financial report for the Toy Bingo. $15,339.00 was deposited. When costs were subtracted, the
Home & School made $8,699.54. Deneen had completed the financial report for the Dreamcatcher Fund which would enable us to access the donation of $1500.00. ACTION: Deneen to complete the remainder of the report – volunteer hours for the Dreamcatcher Fund, the Six Nations Council Donation Fund and to place a thank you ad in newspapers.

7. Snack Program – Dan reported that Joy Johnson and student helpers have taken over running the program.

8. New Business –
• No correspondence
• Deneen reported that she and Wilma had discussed the possibility of Dan becoming an additional signing authority as there had been several occasions this year when neither Deneen nor Wilma were available for cheque signing. With the addition of the principal, Dan Dunnigan, as a signing authority, we will be able to access his signature at the school in the event that one of the other signatories is not available. Dan agreed to become an additional signing authority. ACTION: Deneen to write a letter to the Bank of Montreal stating that the Home & School would like to add Dan Dunnigan as a signing authority and take to bank. ACTION: Dan to go to bank and sign necessary paperwork to become a signing authority
• Request for monies was received verbally by Dan Dunnigan. Dan provided a flyer. The request to pay approximately $3.00/student to bring the Kaha:wi Dance Theartre and Theatre Aquarius to perform “A Soldier’s Tale” in a location within the community was brought forward.
