Aboriginal Languages Day - March 31, 2010

Today our students celebrated Aboriginal Languages Day with workshops dedicated to our Cayuga and Mohawk languages. Our thanks to Mr. T. Deer for sharing his thoughts on the importance of our languages with our students. Ms V. Peters supported our use of the language in the Word Wack activity. With teachers supervising and student leaders in each class, workshops included Word Wack, Name that Social Song, BINGO, Onehe/Onenste, Ganohonoyok Mural, Create-a word, Importance of Language and Reading Stories. It was a great morning with students participating respectfully and positively during all the activities. For lunch Mrs. S. Green had dried corn for corn soup and many parents and students provided us with scone! Nya:weh to all for your part in making our Day Great! Oynrah!
