Parents, students, teachers...a reminder of the Home & School meeting on Monday, October 16th from 6 to 8 pm. Please attend.
The school's first field trip will take place at the Sanderson Centre in Brantford. Students will be treated to the inspirational performance art of the Mayhem Poets. This is a curriculum tied event, so all students are expected to attend, as Arts and Language Arts connections will be strengthened by this awesome opportunity. In-class assignments will be given in response to this event. Cost for students is only $10 a ticket, as busing is (hopefully) being provided through fundraising efforts.
In Arts news, grade sevens are continuing to complete their realistic animal art. They are to complete sketches of a horse and another animal of their choice, then good copies based on their geometric sketches. Prior assignments that should be handed in are a Line, Colour and Shape assignment, and a Coat of Arms for their Arts folder/portfolio.
Grade eights have until the end of October to submit their two pieces of cut-out symmetry, a symmetrical magazine drawing, a work using pointillism, and a personal expressive art piece designed with the elements and principles of art in mind, which they will be interviewed on.
